While
living in Florida in the late 70's, Bill Stachler visited a local barbecue restaurant
for lunch. Lunch was so good that he volunteered at the restaurant to learn how
to slow cook ribs and chicken to perfection. He purchased the barbecue sauce from
the restaurant owner then modified the recipe to get the perfect taste. After
returning to his home State of Ohio, Bill opened three restaurants in the Knox
and Licking county areas. He passed the secret barbecue sauce recipe and passion
for superior barbecue food to his son, Russell, who currently owns and operates
Bill's Real Pit Bar B. Q. in Nashport, Ohio.
